Ever since I was a baby, after we were given a gift at Christmas Eve Church, when we opened it, there was a book about the Lord to celebrate His birthday.

By 1965, we lived in Colorado in the newly built house complete with a stone fireplace. Two sisters have joined the family. (The Baby is not in this photo.) What wonderful feelings of anticipation, curiosity and suspense were coupled with a deep sense of stability and certainty I felt while hanging up my stocking.

Christmas Eve, 1969. This family photo captures a moment which, for me, was central to my life in the Church Community in Ontario. The school day began with Chapel and ended at home with Family Worship. Mother played the piano for Church on Sunday. Daddy was elected to various committees. The sacred customs, music and education were nourishing and meaningful to me and I felt a sense of belonging and security that I had never experienced before.
