Kevin and Eleanor met at age 16, married at age 20, packed up their VW van and headed west from Ontario to the mountains of British Columbia. The picturesque North Thompson River valley, surrounded by mountains was where Kevin built their 14x14 foot log cabin.
The winter of 1978-79 was harsh isolation and bitter cold. The cabin was finished, but no firewood had been gathered. Kevin borrowed a chain saw for one day, but all the rest of the wood was cut with a hand saw.
Homesteading adventures, raising 4 children, homeschooling, volunteering filled the years while Kevin worked on the railroad. Although there are may stories to tell, they all go under the title: One Husband.
